From Spa to Bar: 16 Sensational Things To Do With Your Besties in Bali

Put together by those in the know, these top Bali tips go beyond what the tourists do and take you to places the locals love. From Spa to Bar. Hang on to your sarongs girls. Here we go!

It's not often that you get the chance to leave the hum-drum behind and just be you. Away with the girls for a week in Bali is a wonderful way to really relax, laugh and have fun. You may even re-discover that inner 'funster', lying dormant for far too long.

These 16 Top Tips on where to go with your besties have been gathered by those in the know. They've either 'been there done that' or live in Bali and organise such escapes for groups of women every day of the week.

Sensation-al Spas:

1: Hair Spa - yep. Just because Paris did, doesn't mean you shouldn't. Get party ready and pamper yourselves at the Rob Peetoom Hair Spa, Seminyak
2: Yoga - Treat yourself to a spiritual experience at The Yoga Barn in Ubud. The perfect place to centre yourself whilst overlooking rice paddies - it is pure bliss. While you're up that way why not re-align your Chakras at Fivelements.
3: Try a Pimp Me Up in the W's Away Spa, Seminyak - open 24x7 and an A list hang out.

Cocktails & Culinary Delights:

4: Location, location - Rock Bar at Ayana Resort and Spa - 14 meters cliffside, sexy and sunset sensational.
5: Cocktails at Motel Mexicola, Seminyak. The Chilli Margaritas as a MUST TRY!
6: The Seminyak Scene - Ku De Ta and Potato Head are the places to be seen in Seminyak... on the pricey side but good for a few sunset cocktails.
7: For a culinary experience off the beaten track, go to Sari Organik in Ubud. It is set in the middle of the rice paddies and serves wholly organic food. It is so fresh and delicious!
8: Sunday Brunch at the W Hotel is a must do. About $85 dollars for all you can eat all the champagne you can sip, from 11am. It has to be seen to be believed.
9: Don't miss the sunset seafood beach BBQ at the Beach House, Echo Beach.
10: The delights of South East Asian food cooked by Will Meyrick at his restaurants - Sarong and Mamasan. They also do a mean cocktail - try the Chilli Lime Margarita!

Beach & Beyond:

11: A morning walk through the local village ricefields is a fabulous start to the day. Life is a buzz with the Balinese starting their daily activities in the fields and the village.
12: Take a day trip out to Nusa Lembongan. The beaches are the best in Bali. Only 25 minutes by speedboat and you can get a scooter for the day for only $7 to tour the island. Treat yourself to the banoffee pie at Rocky Resto. Go swimming with the Manta Rays first thing in the morning.
13: On Ceremony - attend a Balinese ceremony. The Balinese have the most colourful, sensory ceremonies for just about every aspect of life - you will be sure to come across one if you spend any time in the more traditional areas of Bali. Visitors are usually very welcome with the right clothing.

Shop:

14: For amazing leather goods and jackets go to 2nd Skin in Seminyak; the Australian designer has the most amazing pieces made from the softest of lam skin.
15: Shopping down Jalan Seminyak. It's what everyone does but it's where everything is from designer fashion to cheap beads and lots of it.
16: Books - for those beach reads, duck into Periplus.
