Plus Size: is it 'the new black'?
16 September 2009

Regular emails from women disappointed that we didn't have larger sizes and pleased that our swimwear did...with the lovely Karen looking fabulous and real in Capriosca.
It's just such a horrible term 'Plus Size'. We're guilty of using it too because sadly, it's how the market defines it and for women to find what we have to sell in 16 and up sizes, it was the best way to do it.
With the average Aussie woman now a size 16, Plus Size is hardly a 16!
Anyway...on the upside, the fashion world is waking up, manufacturers are rising from their slumber which means we will be able to find more stunning larger sizes to sell and the world will be a happier place this summer.
We are trying very hard to find gorgeous cover-ups, kaftans, dresses and trousers but have to say...the pickings are slim! If it's hard for us, it must be sooooo frustrating for women trying to find stunning beachwear out there!
A fabulous find we have made this summer, perfect for poolside and then out for dinner is 'the Saresss'. Huge in Europe and the US they are sure to be a great success here.
Hang in there a little longer girls...as they say in the advertising classics 'it may not happen overnight...but it will happen'.
Likewise...if you know of amazing resortwear in the 16+ size arena, then please let us know. We're all ears!
Until next time.
