Summer Travel Tips - off to Asia? Judith did it recently with Amanda and had a perfect time.

19 August 2008

"I recently visited Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.

I travel to this region quite a lot and have never quite got the packing right: humidity, high temperatures, relaxing by pool, smart dinners and the need for modesty in some areas, all contribute to packing the right clothes, a bit of a problem.

For my last trip, I bought some items from Sequins and Sand.

I wanted to pack them in my flight bag. To my amazement, my three items took up less space in my carry one bag than my inflight novel!

As it turned out, apart from a few other little extras, that's all I really wore for my 2 weeks! (I washed them out by hand and hung them up to drip dry, I hasten to add!).

Being 100% cotton, "Amanda" was perfect for the humidity of Singapore and the long sleeves were a modest cover up for an unexpected visit to the Sultan's Mosque.

The long sleeves also protected me from the mossies of Thailand. Despite being covered up I was still much cooler than my companions, and in the photos, looked cooler too.

On to Thailand and my 2 "Amandas" spent quite a few hours relaxing every day by the pool at Club Med. My blue and white version of Amanda came out for dinner several times,
accompanied by some sparkly sandals, white trousers and chandelier earrings." I was so attached to blue "Amanda" that I wore her on the flight back, adding a blue matching pashmina for arriving back in cold Sydney."

My three items will be accompanying me on my next trip."
