Summer Style: How to Wear Your Kaftan Everyday - From the Beach to the Burbs!

From Beach to Burbs...I like that!
Being in the midst of the cooler autumn/winter months now here in Australia, I've been looking at my fabulous stash of Sequins & Sand kaftans (and a few others I'll confess) wondering if I could extend their life and wear them at home and in the cold.
If I can pull this one off, I think there is a thesis in it and you should all be able to then address me as Dr Holiday Girl thank you very much!
So let's look at the Perfect White Shirt and see how we can wear it as we'd go about our lives in t he Burbs.
Shopping: Every girls favourite...yeh right! Most of us loathe it at best, rarely getting time for a leisurely fashion fix; it's usually for 'supplies'. Don't fall into the trap of slapping on a trackie when you duck down to the shops for your supplies. There is no excuse for the apathy. It may be boring, but you certainly don't have to add to the drudgery with a look to match!
- Grab your PWS
- Team it with your favourite jeans
- Colourful flats - mine are orange
- Vibrant Tote - for an instant pick me up. Picking up the colour of your shoes would be ideal, even if it's in the family eg: red or yellow for orange
- If it's a bit chilly, wear under a skinny long sleeve woollen. Just make sure its a scoop neck. A scoop neck it THE most versatile neckline for layering, particularly under a v-neck.
Out for Lunch: You want to feel great without over doing it - afterall, it is daylight!
- Grab your PWS
- Grey roll neck to layer under
- Black vest over
- Black leggins...i love the toe & heel less variety - bit classier
- Black flats or wedges with peep-toe...yum
- Pale natural lips
- Regular day bag...break up the black, white grey with a splash of colour...so uplifting
Dinner with the Girls: Granted, white at night unless it's summer is a big ask but you can do it - just bling it up and add height!
- Grab your PWS
- Tuxedo pants under - the shinier the fabric/detail, the better
- Black heels - at least an inch please
- No tuxedos? No matter. Leggins with knee high boots - fabulous!
- Metallic cuffs and chunky bangles...lots of 'em
- Scarf under an upturned collar or tied and layered under. For the more adventurous, try your man's tie OR 3 or 4 long strands of metallic jewels
- Make-up matters - eyeliner, mascara and metallic shaddow
- Throw a suite jacket over - black please
So there your have it. Three occassions, three very differnt looks. Take bits and pieces from each and compose your own.
The point is, you CAN wear your kaftan beyond the beach and the girls in the burbs will not only take note, they'll be inspired...thanks to little old you!
