Summer Style: Gotta Love the Floaties!
2 December 2007

There is nothing like coming back from the beach, warm, sandy and a tad sunscreen slicked then jumping into a cool shower to refresh and revive...aah!
For me, I want to hang onto that feeling and throw on something that will make me feel oh so comfortable and gorgeous. It's usually The Perfect White Shirt - the soft indian cotton feels great. It's 'floaty' cut means that the warm summer breezes work their way under and through to gently keep me cool and relaxed. It literally does gently float about, the longer line back slightly swishes as it catches the breeze...fantastic!
There is nothing like the feeling of silk on sun-kissed skin and our Barbados kaftan is just the ticket. The silk is so sumptuously soft and the style so lovely and loose, you hardly know you have anything on!
I can not understand why women would want to wear tight, fitted clothing when on their summer holiday. It's just...just...wrong! Yet I have found that so many women think they look fat and frumpy in a loose fitting style. Not so girls! It's all in the fabric and how it hangs. If it's a stiff fabric and literally stands on end to make you look like a toilet-roll-holder doll, sure! But if the fabric has the right weight and body, it will fall beautifully and look fab!
So please, do yourself a favour this summer holiday and truly embrace that relaxed, comfortable and gloriously feminine feel that comes from wearing floaties!
