Capes. Will they save me?

Jenni Eyles - 9th September 2015

I've long been a fan of a cape in Summer and Winter and will always recommend them to my styling clients no matter what their shape or size.

Thanks Pam!
I reckon Batgirl and Wonder Woman were fashion forward sistas onto a good thing with wearing capes. I mean what better way to add some flair to a bodysuit and I seriously, if I had to wear a full catsuit like wonder woman I'd want a cape to help get me through those 'bloat' days.

I've long been a fan of a cape in Summer and Winter and will always recommend them to my styling clients no matter what their shape or size. A short cape looks fab with skirts or pants while a longer cape suits a streamlined silhouette like a tube dress or jeans. Here's 10 reasons why I love a cape...and why you might too!

1. A print cape is the easiest way to dress up your basics.
2. When travelling capes can take an outfit from day to night...or from the beach to the bar.
3. Keep your shoulders and neck warm on planes with a cape.
4. Protect your bare skin from the harsh sun or wind with a cape.
5. A lightweight cape can be twisted into a scarf...perfect for travel.
6. Belt a cape to add shape and define a waist.
7. If you are conscious of baring your arms then drape a cape.
8. Capes cover...bumps, rolls, skin, scars. If you want to cover it then add a cape.
9. Adding a cape extends your wardrobe, print or plain it's a great way to create a new look.

Summer is the perfect time to try a cape, follow done (or all) of the above tips and your cape will work hard in your wardrobe and reward you.

Til next time. Hope that helps.
